One of the first order points created in the 1920s for the triangulation of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. A 45 meters survey tower was built that does not exist anymore; at present, the area is covered by vegetation. There are holes in the ground, probably corresponding to posts of the tower. There is also a round concrete patch with a hole in the middle that can be part of the supporting structure, or it could be the first order point proper on the ground at the central point of the tower. But the drawing of nivellement general (NG) marker 10 (see below) is not a round object and the NG marker 10 that should be attached has not been located on the round concrete patch. Hence, the real first order point might nearby covered by vegetation.
Proposal
The remaining of first order point of Grunewald should be preserved
as it is a significant artefact of the history of the
Cadastre du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg:
the vegetation should be cleared;
the round concrete patch should be cleaned;
minimal structure should be created using the remaining
holes.
