It would have been impossible to find the most difficult markers without the help (and the scythe) of the Forestry Department of the City of Luxembourg which has the best field knowledge of LL and a historic memory of details. The Bambësch Map 2021 contains little black dots with the locations of the markers that has facilated locating the markers; indeed, dots should be replaced by marker numbers.

The National Archives of Luxembourg has been very cooperative in bringing out of the store the three CP-A maps, allowing direct examination and scanning them to very high resolution.

Guillaume Rischard did Overpass turbo and the Historic Place, in addition to many invaluable comments.

The picture of the original marker 88 has been graciouly provided by the History Museum of the City of Luxembourg.

The location data and most photo links of the 1843 Luxembourg-Belgium Demarcation was copied from Lëscht vun de Maarken op der belsch-lëtzebuergescher Grenz, mostly maintain by GilPe that also provided additional information, in particular regarding Geoportail.

La Copla
Manuel Machado
Hasta que el pueblo las canta,
las coplas, coplas no son,
y cuando las canta el pueblo,
ya nadie sabe el autor.
Until the people sing them,
the coplas, coplas are not,
and when the people sing them,
nobody then knows the author.
Until the people use them,
the programs, programs are not,
and when the people use them,
nobody then knows the programer.
Tal es la gloria, Guillén,
de los que escriben cantares:
oír decir a la gente
que no los ha escrito nadie.
Such is the glory, Guillén,
of those who write songs:
to hear the people say
that no one wrote them.
Such is the glory, Guillén,
of those who write programs:
to hear the people say
that no one program them.
Procura tú que tus coplas
vayan al pueblo a parar,
aunque dejen de ser tuyas
para ser de los demás.
Try that your coplas
go to the people finally,
even if they cease to be yours
to belong to the others.
Try that your programs
go to the people finally,
even if they cease to be yours
to belong to the others.
Que, al fundir el corazón
en el alma popular,
lo que se pierde de nombre
se gana de eternidad.
Which, by melting the heart
in the soul of the people,
what is lost in recognition
one gains in eternity.
Which, by melting the heart
in the soul of the people,
what is lost in recognition
one gains in eternity.
